The Beeches Primary School

    Our Governors

    Nicola Claire

I hold a Masters in Education, and was in the first group of Heads to be accredited by the DfE with the National Professional Headship Qualification. I have been working in Education for more than 30 years, 15 years as a Head. I was the founder Head of two international bilingual primary schools, one in Germany and one in Turkey. I also headed-up a school in Brussels, one in Scotland and two in London. I have worked for an education authority in London, and for Peterborough Regional College

    Adrian Holdstock

Adrian Holdstock has been the vicar of St Mark’s church, Lincoln Road, since moving to Peterborough in April 2012. He is responsible for leading the church in its worship and varied activities and having a particular care for those living and working in his Parish, which embraces Central Ward. His ministry is a half-time post as Adrian also runs his own business offering life coaching and business coaching to people in the Midlands and London. Adrian worked in the armed forces and the water industry before starting his business in 2006. He was ordained in 2003.

    Helen Marsden

I began working at the Beeches in 2000 and have held many varied roles; presently Deputy Head. I have worked in Peterborough schools, both primary and secondary, for 22 years. Before settling in Peterborough, I taught English in Spain, Colombia and Portugal. I have always enjoyed travelling, meeting new people and experiencing different cultures.

Since joining the governing body, I have been committed to ensuring The Beeches continues to develop towards a good Ofsted grade, and will endeavour to continue do this to the best of my ability.

    Emma Mcfarland

I have taught at The Beeches Primary School since 2002 and am currently undertaking the role of Assistant Head. I became a school governor in 2013 and bring my experience of working across the school from Year 1 to Year 6 and my specialist knowledge of numeracy.

I am keen to continue to support the school with raising standards and attainment so all children can reach their full potential. I am part of the curriculum sub committee as I feel I have particular knowledge of data and core subjects.

I have been a parent Governor at the Beeches School since November 2016.  I was appointed a Safeguarding Governor in September 2019.

As a Parent Governor, I am not only passionate about education but also wish to promote the best interests of all children attending the school.

I come from a legal background, having qualified as a solicitor in 2005.
I feel that the knowledge, skills and experience I have gained will benefit and contribute to the successful running of the Beeches Primary School.

    Emiliana Emberton

I was invited to join the governing body in September 2017, as a co-opted governor.

I am a Multipotentialite - a former translator and courtroom interpreter, passionate about STEM (I set up and volunteer for the school’s Code Club), I play bass guitar and I’m currently learning Japanese.

I’m delighted to be part of the governing team and to contributing my eclectic mix of skills.

He then ran his own consultancy offering training, coaching, will and trust work and mentoring for small businesses.
